How ResumeTeX compares resume tools

The decision criteria

We choose criteria that affect an actual purchase or workflow decision: accepted inputs, editable outputs, job-description analysis, source control, reviewability, factual safeguards, collaboration, job tracking, free limits, billing cadence, cancellation, and the user each product serves best.

We do not convert proprietary ATS or match scores into a universal accuracy ranking. No public score can reproduce every employer's configuration or hiring decision.

Hands-on test protocol

• Use one sanitized fictional resume and one fixed job description for every hands-on review.
• Record the date, plan, browser, input format, output format, and time to the first useful result.
• Compare suggested changes against a ground-truth fact file and record any factual drift.
• Save screenshots and exports when vendor terms permit publication.
• Separate facts observed in a test from facts reported only in vendor documentation.

What happens when evidence is incomplete

We state the gap. A documentation-backed comparison can describe documented features, formats, plans, and billing, but it cannot honestly rank output quality or accuracy. Those claims stay out until a reproducible test exists.

If a price or feature cannot be verified, the page links to the vendor instead of guessing. If a material fact becomes stale, the page is corrected or removed from the search index until it is reviewed.
