Privacy Policy

ResumeTeX is an AI resume optimizer. You paste a job description and your resume, and we tailor it into a real LaTeX PDF. We also generate cover letters, cold emails, and EU photo CVs for the German, French, and Dutch markets.

This policy covers the ResumeTeX web app and services. If you have any question about your data, the fastest route is email:

We keep collection narrow. Specifically:

• Account email - handled through Clerk when you sign up or sign in.
• Resume & job-description text - the content you paste in to be optimized.
• An optional profile photo - only if you choose to build an EU photo CV.
• Payment information - managed entirely by Polar. We never see or store your card numbers.
• Consented analytics - page paths, acquisition details, and allowlisted product events so we can understand what is and is not working. Resume and job-description content is excluded.

We use the data above to:

• Generate and store your optimizations, cover letters, and emails.
• Render your EU photo CV when you provide a photo.
• Process payments and manage your subscription or credit packs.
• Maintain your account and send you transactional emails.
• Diagnose errors and improve the product over time.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

To generate your output, the resume and job-description text you submit is sent to our LLM provider, OpenRouter.

We do not train models on your data. Our provider is configured not to use your submissions for training. The text is used to produce your result and for nothing else.

We rely on a small set of trusted vendors to run the service. Here is each one and exactly what it sees:

Essential storage - the data needed to keep you signed in and the app working - is always on.

Google Analytics and PostHog only load after you consent. Google Analytics measures acquisition, page visits, and allowlisted conversion events. PostHog measures allowlisted product funnel and reliability events. PostHog automatic text capture and session recording are disabled.

We do not send resume text, job-description text, names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, uploaded filenames, or employment history to either analytics vendor. URLs sent to analytics have their query strings removed.

You can accept, decline, or withdraw analytics consent at any time. Withdrawing consent disables future collection and attempts to remove Google Analytics cookies created by this site.

Your optimizations and uploaded photos are kept until you delete them, or until you delete your account - whichever comes first.

Free ATS-check uploads are analyzed to give you a score and are not permanently stored.

If you are in the EU or UK (and we extend these rights to everyone), you can access, export, correct, and erase your data.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which purges your data. You can also email us at hello@resumetex.tech and we will help.

Photos are completely optional. We use them for one thing only: rendering your EU photo CV. You can delete an uploaded photo at any time, and deleting your account removes it too.

We use reputable infrastructure providers, encrypt data in transit, and limit access to what each vendor needs to do its job. Payments are isolated with Polar so card data never reaches us. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data protected.

ResumeTeX is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has used the service, contact us and we will remove their data.

Our sub-processors may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves your region, we rely on the safeguards offered by these providers to protect it in transit and at rest.

If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
